More about Navy Strength.
Note: Another Navy Strength gin aged in oak barrels to recreate the style of gin drunk at sea by Naval officers who served at the Battle of Trafalgar is also produced by the same distillery. This is aged in four bespoke barrels made by England's only Master Cooper, Alastair Simms, they incorporate pieces of oak from HMS Victory itself. A percentage of the sales will go to support the ongoing restoration of the Victory.
Sampled on 04/06/2017
(sample bottle batch 007) Crystal clear.
Pine with nostril enlivening white and black pepper spice. Dilution reveals classic gin aromas of citrus freshness and faint parma violet - orris root perhaps?
This classically dry and juniper led gin has a distinctly salty note – fitting given its naval connections.
Juniper and peppery spice continues on the long finish with nutty, salty and cut grass notes.
A truly Navy Strength Gin (57% alc./vol.) that's juniper-led and classically dry in style but with an attractive saltiness. Perfectly suited to salty dogs.
