Introduced 2016, this is the Single Barrel Collection edition of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye whiskey, made using the first new Jack Daniel’s mashbill since 1866 comprising: 70% rye, 18% corn and 12% malted barley. As with all Jack whiskies, it undergoes a charcoal filtration process prior to ageing.

Appearance |
Clear, mid-deep coppery amber. |
Aroma |
Caramel, banana bread, toasted cereal and cherry pie with light peppery spice. |
Taste |
Medium to full-bodied. Toasty nutty cereal, toasted brown bread, banana chips, oak, charcoal and just enough peppery spice. |
Aftertaste |
Long dry toasty oak finish with pleasing nuttiness, vanilla, charcoal, and a touch of spice. |
Overall |
A high rye mashbill buts a bit more backbone and a touch more spice into this whiskey which is still recognisably part of the Jack family. A more muscular Daniel’s cousin if you like, yet mellow compared to many other rye whiskies. |
