A joven mezcal traditionally made by Enrique Hernandez Zenea, a third-generation Maestro Mezcalero in a small 350-litre copper still.

Review and Tasting

Appearance:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Smoked and chargrilled meat and yellow bell pepper with faint floral lavender.

Taste:

Smokiness washes over the palate but this is accompanied by rich, almost sweet cooked agave honeyed caramel. A charcoal-like mineral note and faint spearmint add cleansing freshness.

Aftertaste:

Sweet lingering smoky charcoal.

Overall:

There's a very attractive smoky charcoal and faint spearmint cleansing freshness to this mezcal which makes it delicious at any time but particularly suited to after dinner late night sipping.
