Sustainability

Ramsbury are committed to sustainability, including sourcing water from their own well for distilling and powering the distillery with a bio-mass boiler fuelled by fallen trees.

The single estate process

From field to bottle, Ramsbury source their ingredients, distill and bottle their products on-site. This method of spirit making allows full control of the production process. For Ramsbury, that means looking after the land. To do this, they minimise their impact on the environment and employ sustainable practices.

Ramsbury Estates utilise sustainable farming practices, including fertilising fields with manure from the cattle and ash from the boiler. The distillery recycles and processes their waste, returning it back to nature without using any chemicals in the process, while all by-products from the estate are put to use.

The team are proud of their environmental conscious farming and even the wastewater from the distillery is funnelled back to their pond using reed beds which provides natural filtration, while the cooling water is recycled and used as cleaning water.

Their sustainable ethos continues through to their bottle designs, with their new branded bottles, launched in January 2021, made from 100% recyclable coloured glass.
