The Single Estate

The Ramsbury Estate consisted of 3,000 acres back in 1997, and since has acquired neighbouring estates including Littlecote and Hungerford Park.

It is a Single Estate, meaning that the complete process from 'field to bottle' takes place on the Ramsbury Estate. The team are farmers first and sow, grow and distil the primary ingredients, monitoring each step from planting and growing to harvesting and distilling. This level of control over the process helps ensure the production process is as environmentally friendly as possible.

Situated among the rolling countryside is the distillery, alongside its milling shed, orchard and lake, as well as fields of Horatio wheat. These are harvested by the Ramsbury farmers to be fermented and distilled into Ramsbury Single Estate Gin & Vodka.

The surrounding solid chalk hills, rising up to 250 metres above sea level, attract a variety of wildlife. Traditionally grazed upon by sheep, the high PH in the soil supports a variety of plants and flowers.

The Estate houses farm buildings dating from the 18th century. Ramsbury continues to diversify its ventures, and besides building the distillery in 2014, Ramsbury built their brewery in 2004, a smokehouse in 2014, and an oil press in 2015. They also proudly own a locally-based hospitality business named The Bell, welcoming visitors to their cafe, restaurant, hotel and freehouse.

Surrounding woodlands and forestry also supports the local economy, with commercial forestry in blocks from 2-3 acres to 350 acres consisting mainly of Norway Spruce, Japanese Larch, Corsican Pine and Douglas Fir species in demand by the construction industry.
