Nice sipper for a Summer afternoon on the porch. Just a nit - there’s not an alcohol content listing for this recipe. It’s a nice touch to have the standard drink information to encourage responsible consumption. I really appreciate that feature of the website.
You're right, Doug. Our software needs a liquid volume for each ingredient to calculate the strength. Hence, since 2019, I've stipulated volumes rather than used "Top with," and I've been revisiting old recipes to also add the sweet to dry/sour scale - just 1,000s of recipes to work my way through. In the meantime, I've stipulated a volume for the soda above.
I noticed this on a few entries including some my own that I’ve added. It occurs where ‘to top’ is used for, eg, soda. If you specify an actual amount then a unit count is provided.
Went with the Redbreast on this one as suggested. Very nice and refreshing. Great combination of the Irish Whiskey and lime. BTW, nice play on the words of the cocktail name Mr. Difford. So do we call it a "Limerick" or a "Lime-Rick? Hmmm.
I like it. Made it with Clontarf which turned out actually quite mild. Next time I'd go for a Green Spot or Redbreast, because you need a full flavour. The butter biscuit / vanilla note of Irish whisky in combination with the lime tartness is reminiscent of a Key lime pie.
