Deep tawny color, nearing chestnut... Nose: molasses, plum wine, overrripe plantain... Palate: burnt caramel, hard candy, dried tropical fruit, finishing with a spiced, lightly charred plantain and a moderate funk... I prefer this to Lemon Hart, as there seems to be much more depth in body and density of flavors to contrast and tame the potent alcohol compared to LH. Hamilton 151 does also work quite well as the base spirit in a variety of drinks.
