Just made again with Planteray Xaymaca 45ml. Even better. Lots of Jamaican rum flavor and all the other flavors were present and in harmony. Gets a heart. Now I'm motivated to get some fresh nutmeg and make this a five!
A surprising and non-obvious drink. The combination of ingredients creates a complex flavor and a delightful aroma. The sourness is quite pronounced and might be a bit much for some palates; in that case, I recommend slightly reducing the amount of lemon to reach a more balanced taste.
The combination of absinthe with nutmeg is really great. In my opinion Craddock shaked the nutmeg with the other ingredients. I will try the suggestion to use more rum, but the written version tastes quite balanced.
Sounds great but mine was very sour - even by my standards. Could have just been a high- powered lemon. Will try again with maybe a bit more sugar syrup….
Refreshing with a hint of the absinthe. Initially forgot the nutmeg garnish, but the nutmeg is critical as it softens the edges of the cocktail. Had with some goat cheese and fresh strawberries. Perfect.
