I've (of course) got Difford's Guide (16th Ed), but what should I get next? I'm seeking wit, charm, readability, funny anecdotes and erudition - but mainly readability and anecdotes. Imbibe! looks promising - anything else?
Wow. I need to update what is a very old page! All sales of my latest book gratefully received but anything and everything by David Wondrich should be on your shelf, inc. The Oxford Companion. The three cocktail books I use the most are David Embury's 'The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks', Stan Jones' 1970s 'Jones' Complete Bar Guide', and 'The Savoy Cocktail Book', but the one I'd recommend the most to fit your criteria is Embury's Fine Art of Mixing. We even named one of our cats Embury.
