I, for one, do generally like sweet cocktails, so the dryness Suze brings, surprised me in how I truly enjoy it. I am sipping this cocktail right now. 4.5/5 in my own notes 👍

I thoroughly enjoyed the cocktail . . right up to the point where I remembered that there was supposed to be a modicum of sugar syrup in this endeavor. added and honestly - if one celebrates dry cocktails, better to be left out.

Lighter in flavor and body than the Sazerac, but still silky smooth and delicious, especially if you enjoy the earthy, vegetal and bitter notes of Suze (I do). I prefer the balance of this cocktail to the somewhat sweeter and heavier Sazerac (although that is excellent as well). I also like that it is a simpler recipe.

Delicious! So as not to waste the absinthe I popped the rinse discard into a shot glass and dropped the expressed lemon round into it, served on the side. The drink itself is superb. Well balanced and bittersweet. Putting the absinthe on the side with the lemon makes me yearn for a Prague revisit...

This is a great cocktail. I agree with Davey Springer's assessment.

Excellent! A comparatively light version of the classic and well worth trying.
