I wonder if there are any decent alternatives for our friends who avoid animal products? A quick search suggests Drambui (out for the same reason), Chartreuse Jaune, Strega, Izarra, some amari... Any insights most welcome :)

Hi, I’m asking about the original Benedictine. Does that contain any brandy or other grape products?
Thanks,
David Frost
Bacardi has confirmed that there has been no brandy in Benedictine since the 1980s saying, "There may have been but if so that's pre-Martini acquiring the brand in the 1980s, and likely much longer."
Are you certain that this is based upon brandy? I have seen (a copy of) correspondence from the manufacturer that grapes/grape derivatives are not in the ingredients, and is therefore not based on brandy.
