Very touching video, thank you for sharing Simon. Brought a little tear to the eye. Wonderful how these things bring people together, to tell stories, reminisce, and perhaps make new connections.

That's my Mum 😊! 91 years young now! And, of course, Arthur Tarling was my grandad - or 'Pops', as my sister and I called him. Lovely man of strong morals, very intelligent and knowledgeable, and liked things done properly/professionally. He died too young (72)... Proud grand-daughter... 😊

Thanks for this great article on the wonderful Red Lion. It was a real treat to see and hear Tarling's daughter talk about Tarling and his background. I agree with Embury's dryness, but the original ingredients are better. He seems to have been using Grenadine to create the red in 'Red Lion' - that makes it a different brew. He probably didn't know that Booth's gin had the lion emblem.
