I started with a classic three equal parts Negroni, simply subbing rum for gin, but the rum was masked by the bitter liqueur so I boosted rum notes with...
In seeking to echo this, I used
- 25ml Takamaka Spiced Rum
- 25ml Cocchi di Torino
- 25ml Campari
- 6-8 drops of De Kuyper Classic Bitters
(Made double (50ml etc) and divided)
This is one for the permanent roster. Surprisingly balanced, at least to my taste - the Takamaka seems to take the heft of Campari well.
This is a special drink. The nose of Cachaça is really nice against the Gran Classico (which is criminally underused) and the sweetness of the rum (I used Flor de Cana 4).
