Cute, and I always complaining -in this case- why is not a daiquiri? But in this particular case is a Last Word. I only had at hand Matusalen Rum. And get confused and do it automatically with Marraschino+chartreuse, and in my confusion Dolin vermouth. So I bring it closer, but lovely. I know I am a bad person and should be closer to the recipes. I promise to be better. (Now I am closer and closer to finish my experiment of tasting all Last Words in the guide)

I am seeing several recipes where in the listing it shows light gold rum but when going into the recipes they call for light rum like Havana Club

That's because I consider Havana Club 3yo a light gold rum.

A nice cocktail, as said easy to sip. Rum and Chartreuse is a new combination for me which works very well. But only because green Chartreuse is used and it has a cherry garnish it is IMHO no real Last Wort riff.

A definitely different riff on the Last Word. All the botanical comes from the chartreuse alone with rum replacing the gin, but that's not a bad thing. It lets the chartreuse shine on its own. The sweetened lemon is a little milder than the lime and maraschino and sits nicely with the rest of the drink.

Light and fresh. Very easy to sip. The Chartreuse gives a gentle herbal undertone to what would otherwise be a simple daiquiri. Not complex, but very enjoyable.
