This was the only orgeat I could find and it is 'meh' at best. It has an odd tendency to separate in the drink and float on the top, looking like your drink went through a dust storm. Too bad because it was quite expensive. Torani Almond syrup honestly tastes better. I'll try something different next time.
Agreed. It is my first Orgeat and it tastes and smells quite good; however, it not only needs a lot of shaking before pouring it also separates in the drink itself after not too long, making for an unattractive cocktail. Since I have no other Orgeat experience I do not know if the others out there perform better visually.
I have since discovered the Orgeat made by the wonderful small New Orleans outfit called El Guapo (they also make some great bitters), and I particularly enjoy their "Creole Orgeat Syrup," made with pecans. Delicious stuff!
