I am back a year later to retry this cocktail, having finally bought a bottle of Galliano coffee liqueur (and some double cream).I am also using 40% M&S 5-times distilled English grain vodka. I now rate it a 4.5 as it is less sweet without the substitution of Kahlua. I am so glad I came back to it. It pays to follow the recipe!

I made this using Mount Gay rum and Cointreau. I love the rum and sour/sweet orange notes. I was pleased to find a use for my tub of xantham gum! It is a truly delicious cocktail and I will gladly add it to my repertoire.

I made this with Absolut vodka, Kahlua, Frangelico, single cream and grated nutmeg. It was too sweet for me but I put this down to the substitution of Kahlua. To give this its due I think it would need the Galliano coffee liqueur (or something other than Kahlula) so I shall pick up something else next time and try the cocktail again. I am thus giving 3.5 stars, and will give a new rating after trying the original.

We loved this. Deliciously tangy and right up my tequila / chartreuse street. I subbed agave syrup, as usual, and Goldschlaeger for Kuemmel this time, but I will definitely order a bottle of Kuemmel to try out the original.

Goes down far too easily as it is delicate so no wincing at the sweetness or bitterness! So, if you don’t like your cocktails too sweet, too tart or too calorific you may well like this. As I was coming to the end of a bottle of el sueno tequila gold and was making two cocktails at once I added in some el Jimador anejo tequila. This is also a great use elderflower liqueur!

This has become a complete favoutite. I ran out of ice this last timr, so I used frozen berries to cool the drink and the extra juicy tartness really added a nice element.
