I've enjoyed Negronis for a few years, but I'm not a big fan of gin, so this is an amazing alternative. I've tried bourbon and Irish whiskeys for this and both are a very nice option. I think Tullamore DEW has been my favorite so far though.
Very smooth. The simplicity of this doesn't take away from how enjoyable it is. Made mine with 1792 Bourbon and Disaronno.
I've tweaked this with Irish Whiskey (Tullamore DEW specifically) in place of the scotch (I previously used Lagavulin) and a honey whiskey in place of the regular bourbon. Both versions are great, but the way I've done it dials back the smokiness of the Lagavulin which in my opinion almost took over the drink.
I did like this. It's a good blend between a Boulvardier and a Black Manhattan, but can't decide which one it wants to be closer to.
