Honestly I don't know why this has any sugar in the ingredient list. I think it's perfectly sweet-tart without any sugar. It's got lovely citrus flavor with a strong grapefruit scent that really pops. Lovely cocktail.

I'm having one of these with some toasted nori right now, and I'm telling you, it's the bomb
Some brilliant middle ground between a gin sour and a daiquiri. Refreshing, simple, but surprisingly complex at the same time. A stellar drink.
It's nice, maybe a bit sweet for me. The gin is understated here, just in a support role. It's got richness from the cognac, and the lemon and triple sec are up front in a very lemony way, somehow. Like a richer, more complicated lemon drop.
This is a incredible drink for a hot summer day. I also tried swapping the sugar syrup with a homemade red currant syrup, and that added a wonderfully subtle tart berry element to this that complemented the rest beautifully. I anticipate a summer of making many more of these, along with trying more fruit and other variations...a cucumber variant sounds nice...
I used Hendrick's. A fragrant, tart, bitter, well-balanced drink--just sweet enough.
I used Dolin and Hendrick's. Almost like an edgy, orangy Martinez. The bitter edge of the fernet and orange is contrasted nicely with the herbal and aromatic qualities of the gin, and again orange and fernet too, with the sweetness of the vermouth and orange juice balancing things out. I really like it.
This is a brilliant drink as-is. I also like it with about ~12.5 ml of sugar syrup and 5-7.5 ml of green chartreuse, I think it's very complementary.
Very nice with mezcal too.
This drink is better every time I try it. I'm using Reed's Premium ginger ale which is both very gingery and sweetened exclusively with pineapple and honey, and I think it balances the absinthe very well and brings a lot to the drink. This is a banger IMHO
I took the Luxardo down to ~12.5 and brought the Chartreuse up to about the same and found it a more balanced drink. Still a bit sweet in my opinion, but interesting and enjoyable.

Excellent balance. Raisin-y, bitter, the implication of smoke, some unami in there somewhere. I love it.
Even better with a half shot of lime juice, in my opinion...
I've been making this consistently replacing the soda with lime juice, subbing mezcal for the tequila as Melissa Demian did, and alternately tossing in some salt or salting half the rim of my glass...this is one of my favorite drinks now. Just perfect.
Lovely cocktail. The herbal qualities from the Montenegro pop up front with a lovely bitter and citrusy freshness following. As some others did, I found it too sweet as-is (but still very tasty) and swapped out about a third of the fresh-squeezed OJ for fresh lemon juice, which was perfect.
