In honour of Team Canada's game against the Americans, I substituted maple syrup for the cane syrup. Drink was great, but Team Canada didn't win. Not sure I'd drink again.
A bit drier than I would prefer. Backed off the lemon juice, just a bit and added a dash of maple syrup. Perfect!
Are you Canadian?
The cocktail is perfect 'as is'. I've made variations using Barolo Chinato as a substitute for the Amaro Nonion, and using Yuzu juice and Chinola (b/c I don't know chit from Chinola haha) as a lemon juice substitute. Both are very very good.
Quite sour. I was hoping the orgeat would come through a lot more. I eventually added a barspoon more of Orgeat, and that improved the taste, though it also cut through the lemon, maybe a bit too much. Also, it looks extremely orange due to the bitters. Was it too much?
Mine was orange as well. Tasted fine.
Wonderful drink. At the suggestion of a local restaurant that introduced me to this cocktail, I used 1.5 Highclere Castle gin, 0.5 Lustau cream sherry, 0.75 lemon, 0.5 Giffard orgeat and 2 dashes AB. Wonderful.
