Very smooth with notes of biscuits, subtle fruit (banana, pear, ...), light rum-like spice and vanilla. May be an option for those of us who, in the current political climate or due to tax wars, try to find alternatives to Bourbon.
Unfortunately, it seems it currently isn't in the database to be selected in cabinets or as a favourite in recipes?
Hello Simon, I guess by mistake this one and the Danzantes' Reposado don't appear to be in the database to be selected for cabinets or in recipes?
With no possibility to comment on the "Variations" page, I'll put it here:
Certainly Spring Feeling, Green Ghost, and Last Flight should also be listed as Last Word Variations?
Not sure about Swiss Watch, maybe even that one, too.
The most prominent note I get from my bottle seems to be the taste of green candle wax from the seal. Looking at Simon’s tasting notes and another discerning drinker’s rating, that may just be me, or my shoddy work when breaking the seal of flakey candle wax (I was very careful). To me though, this one was an expensive lesson not to buy bottles that are sealed with wax.
The taste of coloured candle wax from the seal seems to be the prominent note I get from this. I was very, very cautious when removing the seal, maybe the cork stopper (of the terraced kind, sits only loosely on the bottle) allowed the spirit to be in contact with the wax during shipping. Or this mezcal just tastes like wax for me, idk. I guess I’ve paid 50€ to learn never to buy spirits that are sealed with candle wax
