The transition to industrial production began in 1955, and soon the honey liqueur became one of the Algarve’s most iconic brands. Still produced by Portimão’s Cristina family,
the liqueur has taken the name of DOM CRISTINA, a tribute to Oliveiros Cristina. From the locally sourced honey, to the arbutus brandy and mountain herbs distillate, Dom Cristina’s production follows the same meticulous process as in 1955, including the aging cycle in oak barrels already used in Port wine.
