I find it a bit oversweet, would try to reduce the sugar syrup or use the home-made Orgeat. The one from Giffard is good but tends to dominate the flavor & taste.

Very tasty bourbon cocktail. If you can’t decide between a manhattan and a whiskey sour, you should go for a Man o’ War.
Just tried, it's exactly like you've described, although I've felt a slight prevail of Manhattan component, probably due to intense aftertaste of Martini.
