This German brandy is blended from 25 different wine distillations, then aged for up to three years in Limousin oak casks.
Hugo Asbach founded the brand in 1892 and opened the Asbach distillery at Rudesheim-on-Rhine in 1907. He coined the term ‘weinbrand’ (‘wine brandy’) to describe his own product but since 1971 it has been a generic for any quality German brandy made from wine.
Clear, deep golden.
Quite sugary on the palate with a hint of spicy dry oak.
Demerara sugar finish.
