The first of the old Irish whiskey brands to be reformulated as a blend, Tullamore D.E.W. remains one of the lightest of Irish whiskies. Blended from 3 types of whiskey - pot still, malt and grain whiskies. It is predominantly matured in ex-bourbon casks with only a small sherry wood contribution.

Avaliação e degustação

Experimentado em 01/09/2012

Aparência:

Clear, coppery amber with gold highlights. (Pre-2012 samples without the initials are pale straw yellow.)

Aroma:

Fruity cereal grainy nose which starts reminiscent of All-Bran breakfast cereal but opens to reveal pear fruit with honey and faint cacao. (Pre-2012 samples have a metallic grapey nose with floral aromas.)

Sabor:

Creamy sweet barley malt and caramel with hints of pear skin and pear fruit with subtle cinnamon spice. (Heavier and rounder than its former self).

Aftertaste:

Cereal finish with lingering mild cinnamon and black pepper spice. Much rounder and altogether more flavoursome than previously.
