A sour Belgium brown ale made by Van Honsebrouck, a family owned business established in 1953. ‘Met Wijnsmaak’ translates as ‘with wine taste’. The brewery use a ‘koelschip’ which is vat in the roof where the wort attracts natural yeast.

(May-09) Cloudy, dark reddy brown with wafer-thin off white head.
Sour, fermenting red grapes, raspberry fruit, figs and cider vinegar.
Tart, acidic blackcurrant fruit and cider vinegar.
Tart, dilute acidic blackcurrant. Sampled years past its best before date but being a sour ale perhaps at its peak?
