This dark brown porter is named in celebration of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's ship, Great Eastern, which began sea trials on 7th September 1859. Two days later, off the English coast, a huge explosion blew off one of her five funnels. Then the world’s largest ship was little scathed by the episode.
