Pronounced 'A-ber-LAU-er Ah BOON Ar' (not to be confused with 'a bhuna' curry which is equally as tasty), A’bunadh roughly translates as ‘original’ in Gaelic. A’bunadh is aged (5 to 25 years) in Oloroso sherry butts and bottled at natural cask strength with without chill filtration.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 28/12/2013

Appearance:

Clear, deep coppery amber with bronze glints.

Aroma:

Toasty oak, acorn shells and blackened fruitcake. Water releases more rich dried fruit (sweet raisons), cinnamon, sherry, toasty/lightly burnt malt and sherry with chocolate orange.

Taste:

Sweet, fruity and huge in every respect. Water tames amplifying raisony, prune fruit and Christmas cake with toasty coconut, ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg spice.

Aftertaste:

Long, blackened fruitcake, toasted coconut and sherried spice.
