Named after Ron Jeremy and packaged in a matt black bottle, Ron de Jeremy XO is blended from pot and column still distilled rums from Barbados, Trinidad, Jamaica and Guyana, "all aged for up to 15 years" in American oak ex-bourbon barrels.

This brand was named after Ronald Jeremy Hyatt, born on 12-March 1953 in New York City. In 1978, a girlfriend sent off his photograph to appear in Playgirl Magazine's Boy Next Door pages. Subsequently, Ron received female fan mail and offers from adult filmmakers leading to his first appearance in a hard-core move, Co-ed Teasers, in 1983. He became one of the most famous male porn stars with more than 1,000 films leading to his being listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for "Most Appearances in Adult Films".

The rum was marketed by the aptly named 'One-Eyed Spirits' with the tongue-in-cheek straplines "The adult rum" and "for adults only".

However, in 2020, Jeremy was accused by 23 alleged victims of 11 counts of rape, eight of sexual battery, and 16 other sexual offenses. As a result, One-Eyed Spirits said, "We are discontinuing the Ron de Jeremy brand. Ron Jeremy is charged with serious crimes and has been in jail awaiting trial since June 2020. We terminated our commercial agreement with him in August 2020. Continuing with the brand is not a sustainable option for us at One Eyed Spirits. The joke is over."

Appearance:

Clear, deep coppery golden amber with reddish hues.

Aroma:

Blackened fruit cake, passion fruit, toffee, pencil shaving-like oak, desiccated coconut, honey and coffee.

Taste:

Blackened fruitcake, burnt sultanas, molasses, treacle, espresso coffee, black pepper and cinnamon spice.

Aftertaste:

Burnt fruitcake, treacle, passion fruit, orange zest and black pepper spice.

Overall:

Full-bodied and rich (perhaps a tad too rich to be just from the oak), yet dried by burnt notes of blackened fruitcake, molasses, espresso coffee and black pepper spice with passion fruit and desiccated coconut.
