This Vermouth di Torino Superiore is based on Ettore Germano's 2013 Barolo Cerretta wine, flavoured with a secret botanical blend. It is described as double aged as the wine is aged before blending and then aged a further period (3 to 6 months) as a vermouth.
Each bottle is numbered and hand-packaged.
Best appreciated over ice with an orange slice and/or an orange zest twist.
Avaliação e degustação
Experimentado em 08/03/2019
Aparência:
(sample bottle No. 774) Clear, deep tawny red.
Aroma:
Pungent wormwood, nutmeg, oak, cola, clove, red wine and cream-of-soda.
Sabor:
Full-bodied wine and rich fruitiness with assertive bitter wormwood, warming Christmassy clove and nutmeg spice, and light vanilla.
Aftertaste:
Long, dry spicy finish with lingering wormwood bitterness.
No geral:
Based on a full-bodied wine, this is huge vermouth with its bitter wormwood and forceful spice that dry to the extent that this is much more than a mere "sweet vermouth." Some will find the pronounced wormwood notes too dominant.
