Released in March 2020 as "the oldest permanent expression" in the Redbreast range, the 27 Year Old blend includes a portion of whiskey that was matured in ruby port barrels from Portugal's Douro Valley.

Dave McCabe (Redbreast's blender) says, "Bottled at 54.6% cask strength, the ruby port barrels contribute notes of mango, pineapple and berry to the robust flavour of Redbreast 27 Year Old, clearly distinguishing it from the previous expressions in the collection, treading a beautiful balance of tradition and innovation."

Aparência:

Clear, golden amber.

Aroma:

Pungent and expressive. Passion fruit, ripe mango, vanilla and toffee popcorn with nutmeg and black pepper spice. Subtle floral and Play-Doh-like aromas. A splash of water amplifies all.

Sabor:

Passion fruit and black pepper spiced dry oak with creamy vanilla and a touch of chilli heat.

Aftertaste:

More passion fruit with chilli and black pepper spice. Sweet vanilla balances bitter oak tannins.

No geral:

Pronounced pot still spice and wood influence with generous tropical fruit and vanilla.
