No one can be sure what Boker’s Bitters tasted like – even bottles that survive will have changed flavour profile over the past hundred years - recipes and common consensus suggest a pronounced cardamom character. Adam Elmegirab has produced this interpretation of these long lost classic bitters.

As all you cocktail geeks out there know only too well, Boker’s Bitters is a long defunct brand of bitters, which was launched in 1828 in New York. Although these bitters are much called for in cocktail tomes of the era, it does not appear Boker’s made it through Prohibition.
