Review and Tasting

Sampled on 14/07/2012

Appearance:

Slight haze, coppery amber with medium robust beige head and heavy lacing.

Aroma:

Malty and slightly earthy sticky buns with caramel, toffee, cacao and espresso coffee and spruce needle hops.

Taste:

On the bitter side but not as aggressively hoped as many American IPAs with malty notes given a fighting chance against powerful piney and grapefruit zest hops and dry stewed tea tannins.

Aftertaste:

Bitter notes grow in the finish leaving a lingering resinous spruce needle taste which demands another sip.
