Orange Bitters

A term for orange-flavoured bitter liqueurs and aperitifs made bitter by gentian, quinine and other herbal roots. Orange bitters date back to the early 1900s, reaching the height of their popularity in the early 20th century, so consequently are commonly found in cocktail recipes from that period.
