Distilled with 23 plants, this liqueur is named "Grand-Olan" in reference to this summit of the Ecrins massif, in the Alps, where some of the plants used in the recipe grow.
Grand-Olan liqueur was created at the beginning of the 19th century by Charles Meunier, founder of the Meunier Distillery, after receiving "a mysterious elixir recipe from the Carthusian Dom Emmanuel Nivière in thanks for having hosted monks chased from their monastery after the French Revolution."
