Fee Brothers use charred oak whiskey barrels from Tennessee, freshly emptied so the wood is still soaked with aged whiskey, to produce these particular bitters. They arrive once a year, in spring, in limited numbers.
Made with Angostura bark, citrus oils and a secret mix of spices, these are an interesting alternative to Angostura aromatic bitters in drinks such as a Manhattan or an Old-fashioned.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 03/01/2011

Mint tea, camomile, citrus zest and deeper rootier notes feature.

Although bitter, a spearmint freshness appears along with hints of prunes and cooked fruit.
