Luppoli means hops in Italian and as the name of this pale lager suggests it is brewed with four different hop varieties, Columbus being the most dominant (along with water, barley malt and glucose syrup).

The beer is named after Angelo Poretti who established his brewery in Valganna, producing his first beer on 26th December 1877.

Appearance:

(sample BBE 12/2016) Clear, pale golden with thin but retentive head and good lacing.

Aroma:

Malty hay and white crusty baguette aromas, apple fruit and grassy hop.

Light-bodied and moderate carbonation. Sweetcorn, sweet white crusty bread and mildly bitter grassy hops.

Overall:

An Italian pale lager that will offend few, with notes of sweetcorn, sweet white crusty bread and mildly bitter grassy hops.
