Porter was the great London beer style of the 18th and 19th centuries and takes its name from the city's docks and market porters who rank this powerful beer. Meantime says its "London Porter is a classic interpretation of this complex dark beer style".

Opaque, ebony coloured with huge head with quickly subsides to broken thin layer of foam with very light lacing.
Yet to be toasted sticky hot cross buns with current and candied orange peel, faint charcoal/burnt toast, molasses and liquorice.
Bitter sweet, burnt pumpernickel bread crust with liquorice and faint espresso coffee.
Slightly bitter finish which leaves a sense of dried liquorice, charcoal and burnt bread crust powder on the palate.
