Brewed with Pale Ale malt, Crystal malt, Munich and some Wheat malt with Columbus, Chinook and Citra hops. Citra is a relatively new hop which contributes zesty lime flavours.

Ghost Ship is part of Adnams’ Seasonal Range available from May to October 2011 and this pale ale is inspired by a 600-year-old pub which Adnams own called The Bell which is reputed to be haunted. The Bell lies in what is said to be one of England’s most haunted villages, Walberswick. This is where George Orwell spotted the spectre of a small stooping man, prompting his lifelong interest in ghosts.

Walberswick’s shore is littered with ship wrecks and just to the north west lies the ghost town of Dunwich. Once one of England’s largest ports, coastal erosion has sadly reduced Dunwich to a mere village with the former town now under the waves.

Όψη:

(sample best before 08/Apr/15) Clear, golden amber with a thick, moderately retentive, off-white head with light lacing.

Μύτη:

Zesty orange and grapefruit with aromatic pine hops and slight eggy aromas.

Στόμα:

Grapefruit and lime zest bitterness leads an enlivening palate with powerful pine hops and good malty flavours.

Επίγευση:

Dry zesty lime citrus finish. Zesty citrus finish with piney bitterness and lingering orange zest. Overall: Good malty character with mouth puckering dry piney hops.
