The inspiration for the bottle’s design is Pisa’s famous Leaning Tower and the base is duly slanted so the bottle leans. While the packaging is distinctive, it is cheapened by an unflattering label and the overlong plastic screw cap.

The story behind Pisa is a romantic one. In the early 90s a Dutch inventor called Max Paping celebrated his wedding anniversary in the Tuscan countryside. While enjoying the ambience and scenery Max decided to celebrate their love by creating something permanent. The result is Pisa, a liqueur made in Tuscany using locally grown almonds, pistachios and hazelnuts.

Όψη:

.

Μύτη:

Appealing nose of pistachios and almonds.

Στόμα:

Sweet, clean and nutty with hints of pistachio dominated by flavours such as marzipan, macaroon and Battenberg cake.

Επίγευση:

More subtle hints of vanilla and apricot emerge and continue through the long marzipan finish. While very appealing, the flavour lacks bite and complexity.
