Review and Tasting

Sampled on 10/11/2013

Appearance:

Clear, coppery amber with burnished copper tints.

Aroma:

Buttery caramel, golden syrup, newly sawn oak and rich sherry with earthy pear skin, green apple, grilled almond and almond cake.

Taste:

Full-bodied with rich sherry, fruit cake dried and spicy resinous oak. Notes of liquorice, dark chocolate and cinnamon.

Aftertaste:

Sherry drenched fruit cake with burnt edges and lingering liquorice. Like many sherried whiskies this Linkwood is better without water.
