First brewed in 1993, Level Best is the original and flagship beer from the Rother Valley Brewery. A traditional best bitter brewed with a trio of British hops (Admiral, Progress, and Golding) all grown close to the brewery on Hoads Farm in Sandhurst.

Appearance:

Hazy, deep coppery amber with thick retentive head and good lacing.

Aroma:

Toffee, lemongrass and hay. Faint crystalised ginger.

Taste:

Medium-bodied. Light toffee maltiness with assertive bitter grassy hops and freshening zesty lemon citrus.

Aftertaste:

Grassy and citrusy hop bitterness.

Overall:

Sweet toffee malt is balanced by moderately bitter hops contributing attractive grassy citrus freshness. Enjoyable and sessionable.
