Appearance:

Clear, deep walnut amber.

Aroma:

Intense sultana, burnt fruit cake and sherry with black cherry, liquorice and soot. Water amplifies cherry and sherry.

Taste:

Rich black cherry fruit, clove and black pepper spice with soot, gunpowder and charred oak. Dries and becomes more sooty with water.

Aftertaste:

Salty liquorice, light black pepper spice and very faint coffee beans.

Overall:

Soot, burnt fruit cake, clove and black pepper spice characterise this malt with faint black cherry and liquorice.
