Slight preference for this over Eeyore's Requiem as I am a big fan of Cynar, which also gives a hint more sweetness.

Noting the Eeyore's Requiem reference, yes, very similar. My notes on that drink state I used Luxardo Bitter Bianco, and enjoyed it. I had Cocchi Americano for this and I think I enjoyed it more. The result is surprising for its melange of ingredients. Fortunate measures.

Run out of bianco so resorted to extra dry. The result was bitterness incarnate - wouldn't recommend.

3 parts dry vermouth to 1 part 1:1/50°Brix simple (or other syrup) is akin to blanc vermouth in sugar content. Yes, this combination is more bitter than a Negroni, but dropping the sugar content will only make that aspect more intense.

I like it. But I also like Eeyore's Requiem, so it make sense. Lots going on in the glass, but it works. Good apertif, better digestif.

Isn't this essentially Eeyore's Requiem from Toby Maloney at the Violet Hour? This one has an extra 1/4 oz of Cynar but otherwise reads like the page in 2011's Beta Cocktails.
