For us, this seems intended as an aperitivo, as the Negroni is. So we eschewed some commenters' apparent desires to do a makeover of it as a digestivo. We wanted it light and floral and so used Never Never Triple Juniper Gin and Maidenii Sweet Vermouth. A beautifully balanced cocktail.
