Talk about a mouthful of flavor! I found this nicely balanced with Cocchi Storico Vermouth di Torino and Fernet Branca. Although syrupy it didn't taste too sweet. I've got to try this with Cocchi Dopo Teatro Vermouth Amaro.

Wow, choose your vermouth wisely. I think since we’re absent a spirit the vermouth profile is much more important. Strega’s minty aftertaste compliments the eucalyptus of fernet well.

Definitely cut the Fernet in half, and it’s delicious. I added 1 oz of dry gin and now it’s my perfect herbal cocktail.

Tried this, still too sweet, tried adding orange bitters, slight improvement but now so far off the original recipe I have to conclude it just doesn't work.

Agree with the earlier comment, the Fernet slightly overwhelms the other ingredients.

Dialled down the fernet - too sweet.

A fine after-dinner drink, but I found the Strega a little lost (probably behind a strong vermouth); upping it a bit (5-10ml) made a better-rounded drink to my taste.
