Thanks for taking time to reply, Tim, and for the explanation. I've since had the "pleasure" of trying apfelwein in Frankfurt which was alarmingly dry and bitter, compared to my expectation. The problem is not the drink so much as the expectation.
Thanks for the comment Andy. We don't add any sugar, caramel or boise to Avallen, which is why it is not as sweet as other Calvados you have tried, which might contain up to 14g of sugar per litre. We wanted to create a liquid that was pure, natural and really designed for mixed drinks rather than the traditional digestif occasion where Calvados is drunk.
