Had this cocktail again, but with a slight modification. Lowered by vermouth by 1/4 and used blue Curacao. Cocktail sightly more dry with a interesting ice aqua blue colour. The gin flavour was a bit more prominent.

Looking at these specs, I couldn't see why one would measure that small amount of Curacao. I opted to give the glass (Nick & Nora) a heavy rinse of Pierre Ferrand. My St. George Terroir really sticks out in this. I think I would've preferred a gin more spicy and herbal. At any rate, this turned out good with what I used. Just enough orange character. I think it's growing on me.

As with most martini cocktails, the quality of your ingredients will dramatically impact the final flavour. We used a Southern California local gin from the lower Mojave desert. It has light citrus hints which pared excellently with the dry curacao. Perfect and well worth a try. Into my favourites.
