I made a slight adjustment and split the base between about 10ml tequila blanco and 12.5ml Mezcal, more to hoard my Mezcal than to reduce the smokiness and I have to say, I was very pleased with the result. The smokiness was definitely still there but maybe a little more subtle, which allowed the elderflower to assert itself a bit more.

I have to say, this beautifully balanced cocktail is giving my no. 1 favourite, the Margarita, a run for its money! I love all the individual elements but the whole is much greater. 👌

Tried this with siete misterios mezcal , I found that the smoky taste was enjoyable but hidding the other tastes, didn't feel the elderflower liqueur for instance. Rated 4/5, recommended.

Made this with a lime cordial substitute. Excellent bitter/sour balance with smoky sweet notes.

Ingredients harmonize very well without any one of them being dominant. Ideal for people who don‘t like Aperol (or Campari) too much. Very smooth.

Tried & liked, very very much. I don’t have yellow chartreuse but I do have elderflower liqueur and I was so happy reading about this riff on the naked & famous. Made it as soon as possible and I am sipping it right now. It is gorgeous!
