Salty Bird hardly suggests a sweet fruity drink but perfectly befits this bittersweet rum-laced pineapple sipper

Made this with very neutral Don Q Cristal but that was the wrong call. A more interesting Spanish rum would have added an extra dimension I think the juice wants. Campari and pineapple go well together. Rum integrates, fruit is large on the palate without mud, finish is pleasant savory bitterness.

Husband appreciated the Campari a little more than me so I added a touch more syrup and that fixed it. Solid tiki aperitif to start the evening!

I added a few more drops of saline. This also benefits from some time in the class. All in all it was refreshing.

Surprisingly good! I'm generally not a fan of red bitter liqueurs, but this drink balanced out the flavours so well that it was really enjoyable.

Great tiki-esque drink for those that don't like 'em too sweet. Fruity and somewhat sweet up front then bitter and salty at the end. Great balance with a lot of flavors.

Great cocktail. Campari is the star here, nicely balancing with the pineapple juice and a touch of salt showing up at the end.

Very nice balance of all the ingredients. Like the slight salty aftertaste. You get both the bitter and sweet flavours.

Perfectly balanced with a nice hit of salt on the end. My favorite cocktail at the moment.
