To me the smell is reminiscent if a dusty field on a dry summer day. The taste is bitter with a hint of floral, and works well in a variety of cocktails, or on the rocks with a bit of lemon. Outstanding stuff.
I do love this stuff, not least because it seems to generate revulsion with some people - colour of wee, uncompromising bitterness etc. It's a superb ingredient with great complexity. And how can you nit be beguiled by its appearance? "Fat moderately fast falling tears" - I just love it!
